1. Accepting these terms
By downloading or using TripSynk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you use TripSynk on behalf of a group, you confirm you are allowed to do so.
You must be at least 13 years old to use TripSynk. The app is not directed at children under 13.
TripSynk is built and run by an independent developer based in India, not by a registered company. It is offered free of charge, and we do not currently earn revenue from it.
2. What TripSynk is — and is not
TripSynk is a record-keeping and planning tool for groups travelling together. It lets you create trips, log shared expenses, work out who owes what, keep a shared photo album and plan an itinerary.
TripSynk is not a bank, payment processor, wallet, money transmitter, lender or financial adviser. We do not hold, transfer, take custody of, or have any control over your money. Balances shown in the app are a convenience calculation based on what you and your group enter — they are not a statement of account, and they create no legal debt between you and us.
3. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time password. You are responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure, and for activity that happens under your account.
Tell us at contact@tripsynk.in if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
4. Your content
Photos, expenses, trip names, messages and anything else you add remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to store that content and show it to the people you have shared it with — for example, the other members of your trip.
We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
Only upload content you have the right to share. If you add a photo of other people, make sure they are comfortable with it being in a shared trip album.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not use TripSynk to:
- break the law, or help someone else do so;
- upload content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or infringes someone else’s rights;
- add people to trips or upload their details without their knowledge;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- disrupt the service, scrape it at scale, or reverse-engineer it.
We may suspend or remove accounts that do these things.
6. Money, balances and settlements
Expense amounts, splits and balances are calculated from what you and your trip members enter. We do not verify that entries are accurate, and we are not a party to any debt or arrangement between you and the people you travel with.
When you settle up, TripSynk may open a UPI app with payment details pre-filled as a convenience. The payment itself happens entirely outside TripSynk, between you and the recipient, through your own payment provider. We never see, hold or move the funds, and we are not responsible for a payment that fails, is sent to the wrong person, or is disputed.
Marking something as settled in the app is a note for your own records. It is not proof of payment.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep TripSynk running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a significant change to these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, tell you in the app.
TripSynk is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will make the terms clear before you are charged.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or remove specific data without closing your account. See Delete my account and Delete my data.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we are required to by law.
9. Disclaimers
TripSynkis provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculations, currency conversions or receipt scanning will be accurate — always check the numbers that matter to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the developer of TripSynk is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or amounts you owe to or are owed by other people. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
